Tonight I visited the Hotel Del Coronado on Coronado Island near San Diego. I got some fudge from their candy shop, Speckles and gawked at the beauuuutil christmas decor.
The Hotel Del is a national landmark hotel built in 1888 and has survived the World Wars, the Great Depression, and many other business shuttering events.
The classic wood decor was a backdrop for Presidential and guests of old cinema like Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe. They have shops, spas, and even a ghost in residence of a young woman that was killed in one of the rooms.
